Details

Sometime source viewer does not show part of the source, though browser displays the page correctly. In my case, it skipped one of the page's <div>...</div> sections. I tried to save the source with IE5.5 and then put the source file locally ant on the web. In both cases Mozilla showed all the source, however, it did not when page was read from the original location (btw, IE5.5 showed all the source in all cases). Unfortunately, due to security constraints, I cannot give you URL of the site. Using build: 2001093008 on Win2000 Pro.
Could be related to several bugs. 1) Does the page load completely before you view source? 2) Have you tried loading view/source a 2nd time immediately following the 1st one
Reporter: Without a testcase, there's not much more we can do :-(. If you can make a simple testcase, please attach it to this bug: http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/createattachment.cgi?id=102499 -> XP Apps

even just the original site's URL would help....
It seems, that this problem could be due to cache problems. I noticed, that eventhough page is shown correctly, source is shown according to very old version of the page. I tried to to clear memory & disk cache through Edit->Preferences (or manually deleting files) and restart browser, however this did not help. The same applies to Edit Page option from the file menu. Composer opens the version of the page, that is shown in source viewer, but not the one that is displayed. Why must "source view" have different source of information from the one, used by the browser to display a page ? It is nightmare for web-developer.
I tried with build 2001101103 on Win2000Pro, but this problems remains. Is anything being done about this problem ?
Yes. It's being worked on. Since you did not see fit to provide a testcase or URL, I'm going to assume based on your problem description that this is the usual "view source does not load from cache" problem. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 55583 ***
