How's this going. Do you need help purifying this?
Comment 4•25 years ago

I have purify up and running, but it hasn't been very helpful so far...I am
really going to dig in and debug this early next week.

Hi Scott,
I'm looking for clues on this one and I am noticing that when I display this
problem message, I seem to keep getting fed the data...(i.e. endless loop on
the data being read). I really think I'm trouncing memory somewhere, but
wondering if there is anything you can think would cause the endless loop from
necko when reading the file.

Hey rich, how big is the file you are trying to display? Maybe your running into
the necko problem where it can't load files over a meg?
Comment 9•25 years ago
|
||
Actually, this is a problem with the URL detection code...though I can't seem
to isolate it.

This is a nasty bug that only appears in apprunner. Viewer.exe works fine
displaying this same file.
Will take further investigation.

Jeff, could you give this a look? THanks.

Rich sez that the steps to reproduce are just the one really long line of the
http URL, and that's the bug.

Sounds like this needs to be fixed for PR1, so I added a note to the Status

I am not able to recreate the problem. It seems work fine for me. I did try to
display the message and also sent it as an attachment. Scott, can you still
reproduce the problem?

I don't have the message that crashes on my machine at home. I'll try it next
week.

I was using the attachment that you attached to the bug. I followed the link and
saved it to my local disk. Is that the one which causes the crash for you
originally?
