When you are typing in the navigation bar (the text box with the URL of the
page) while Mozilla is loading a new page, it will change the value while
typing. This is common to Netscape 4.x and Internet Explorer, but IMO is the
wrong thing to do. If a user control has the focus (i.e. keyboard events are
going to the control), then it should in no wise be changed by the browser.
For instance, it takes a little bit of time for my home page to come up, but
sometimes I want to go directly to a different page (to check out some
documentataion or a URL I was given). The timing is such that by the time I am
half way typing the URL, the browser finishes loading the home page and changes
the text I am CURRENTLY writing.
It is very frustrating.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Startup the browser
2. While the home page is loading, type in a URL in the GOTO bar
3. If the home page finishes loading before you finish typing, your URL
is overwritten.
Actual Results: Mozilla overwrites the URL I am trying to type, and the result
is usually have the URL of the current page and half the URL I am typing.
Expected Results: Mozilla should respect the fact that the GOTO bar has the
focus, and not overwrite the URL when someone is typing in it.
Isn't that a dup of bug 15050
http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15050
if so its has just been fixed - as it seems
