We have a GFX for Windows, Mac, GTK, etc... We should write one for text mode. This would allow us to support proper text output (e.g. for e-mails) without losing CSS formatting. It would also allow us to replace Lynx.

You could use aalib maybe ?
as long as we don't just pipe the output from one of our graphical GFXes to it... if we do, we'll end up with garbled text. The text GFX has to do things like force all computed font-sizes down to 1em, force all lengths to multiples of 1em, etc. This could be quite fun to do. :-)
