I don't seem to be able to compose a mail based on a saved text/mail. I can import textfiles as attachment, but not inline, inserting it directly into the body. So there is no way to compose a mail from a textfile, or to insert textfiles. The reason I need this is mainly because 8bit-chars can't be copied without problems... [see also bug #120693, about copying text with 7th bit set]

I don't see the problem. You can set the charset in the compose window. pi
