From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; WinNT4.0; en-US; rv:0.9.8) Gecko/20020204
BuildID: 2002020406
The applet runs, but if I go to the Help menu item and choose User Manual (the
only choice), the User Manual is launched in anothe rbrowser window but a few
seconds later, an error message is displayed saying the application didn't load
properly. It seems to have loaded properly, but dismissing the error box also
dismisses part of the User Manual.
In IE4.01sp2, using the IE java vm, everything works fine. If I tell the java
plug-in (1.3.1_02) to apply itself to IE, then IE no longer is even able to
display the initial applet.
If I try to switch to the new java plug-in 1.4.0-rc, then nothing works because
the directory structure no longer contains a "hotspot" directory but instead has
a "client" directory. The browser (all of them) look for the jvm in the hotspot
directory.
I hope this is good enough info for you.
I can supply a screenshot of the error message if you need it.
I am running NT4sp6a, mozilla 0.98
I hope these little bugs get ironed out soon as I'd like to rely on mozilla on a
regular basis.
Thanks for all the work you folks are doing.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.go to url
2.applet should launch
3.go to Help menu and choose User Manual
4.wait for the user manual to display in another browser window
5.a few seconds later, you should get an error message about the applet not
loading correctly
Actual Results: I received the error message mentioned above.
Expected Results: There should have been no error.
I've called this bug "major" since it affects the reliability of the java
sub-system, which is very important.
