Build 1999091509M11: Win32/NT4 (Linux and Mac: Have seen same general problems. Will check later with detail) Overview: The Server Panels in the following wither have layout problems or typos. Account Setup Spec: http://gooey/client/5.0/specs/mail/accountSetup/accountSetup.html POP/Server level selected 1. The "Server Type:" statement shows "POP Mail server" Expect: "POP Mail Server" so that "s" in "server" is capitalized. 2. Layout: The "Server Name:" and "User Name:" text is too far from their text boxes. Expect. They should be a. displayed closer to their text boxes b. centered with their text boxes c. the text boxes should be left and right alligned with each other 3. Typo: "Check for new messages every # minutes." Expect: "Check for new mail every # minutes" where "messages" is changed to "mail" and the period after minutes is removed. 4. Typo: Periods at the end of these text strings: "Leave messages on server.", "Delete messages on server when deleted locally.". Expect. No periods at the end of the text strings. 5. Typo: "Delete messages on server when deleted locally" Expect: The string should state "Delete messages on server when they are deleted locally". 6. Layout: "Delete messages on server when they are deleted locally" is level as "Leave messages on server...". Expect: Indent the "Delete messages on server when they are deleted locally" under the "Leave messages on server..." statement. 7. Typo: "Empty Trash on exit" Expect: "Empty Trash on Exit" where "exit" has a capital "E". IMAP/Server level selected 8. Typo: The "Server Type" field dispays "IMAP Mail server". Expect: "server" should have a capital "S". 9. Layout: The "Server Name" row has little space ontop and below. Expect: There should be more horizontal spacing above and below the "Server Name" row. 10. Layout: The "Server Name:" and "User Name:" text is too far from their text boxes. Expect. They should be a. displayed closer to their text boxes b. centered with their text boxes c. the text boxes should be left and right alligned with each other 11. Typos: "Check for new messages every # minutes." Expect: It should state "Check for new mail every # minutes" so "messages" should change to "mail" and the period should be removed from the end of the sentence. News Server account selected 12.Layout: "Server Name:" not set correctly. Expect" "Server Name:" should appear more centered with the text box and closer to the text box.

Question: Are we really going to have Empty Trash on Exit for POP mail servers? This would be new to seamonkey. Just checking... This used to appear only for IMAP servers. Question: (also see bug #16219) will we have POP3 field "automatically download new messages" in conjunction with enabling "check for mail every N minutes". It's in 4.x and not shown in the current spec.
First Question: Yes, it will be easier to do it than not to do it Second Question: good point. Can you file a seperate bug to track that whole feature, plus one bug for the Account Manager UI (file against me) and one for making pop3 use this pref, and file it against putterman? (three bugs total)
Do we also need a [FEATURE] bug for the Empty Trash on Exit (POP)?
Bugs filed as alecf suggested for Second Question: auto-download new messages pref are: #16235, #16239, #16240.
Oversight on my part. I have added "Automatically download any new messages" as a checkbox below the "Check for new mail every X minutes" checkbox on the Account Setup UE spec. http://gooey/client/5.0/specs/mail/accountSetup/images/AcctServerPop1.gif

Not beta2 stopper. Marking M18. Add beta2 keyword if you disagree.

Agree not a B2 stopper, but they need to be in the final product. I hope this stuff doesn't get pushed back yet another time.
Mass move mailnews bugs to Putterman. Ouch.
