the Communicator Profile Manager
3. Click on Next (at the bottom)
4. Enter New Profile Name: qatest01 and click Finish.
5. Back to Profiles and Migration dialog, select qatest01, which is the newly
created User Name.
6. And click on the Start button
7. This brings up the New Messenger Account Wizard, click on Next
8. Enter text in the text fields:
Your Name: qatest01
Email address: qatest01@netscape.com
9. Click Next
10. Enter Server Information:
Server Name: nsmail-2.netscape.com
Sever Mame: smtp.netscape.net
11. Click Next
12. Name and password:
User Name: qatest01
Password: (password)
13. Click Next
14. Enter Account name: qatest01
click Next, click Finish
15. Apprunner Messenger comes up
16. Click on the qatest01 account from the Folder pane to display the folders,
(do it twice, so that Inbox is displayed.)
17. Select Inbox
Actual result: Nothing happens. No message is loaded.
A prefs.js file is created from the New Account setup but it does not
work. Loading mail message does not work.
Expect result: Messages should be loaded. Using the New Account Setup creates a
prefs.js file. When prefs.js works, it should be be able to load mail messages.
Will test Win_nt and Mac later.

Alec, can you redirect this to the appropriate owner? It came to me because the
profile manager component was used without an explicit owner. Lisa is getting
that fixed soon...

fenella, you have to click "Get Messages" to download the messages from the
server.
Scott, do you have any plans/bugs about downloading messages automatically if
the inbox is empty or anything?

I don't have any plans about this. I would think that IMAP and News should do
the right thing. They are both given the chance to say that they need to
download messages in ManyHeadersToDownload. Something must be working
incorrectly in that.

I guess eventually we'll have to do something for this case.
Summary: Using New Account setup to create prefs.js does not load msg → New Account setup prefs.js does not automatically load msg
Sorry. I forgot to mention that I did click on Get Msg. Yes. this was done.
But message still does not load. However, when I exit/relaunch apprunner
messenger. The messages are loaded. May be the summary should be modified to:
New Account setup prefs.js does not load message automatically. It only loads
messages after exit/re-launch apprunner messenger.
This also occurs on Win32 as well (1999-09-20-13 M11)
changing component to Front End (I'm in the middle of removing the Profile
Manager component)

I'm marking this fixed since step 6 shouldn't be related to this bug.
