Option to disable splash screen natively via preferences. It would be better
than adding the -nosplash command to shortcuts (Windows). If you do not open
mozilla using the modified shortcut, it doesn't work. Furthermore, the
workaround is not for all OSes.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open mozilla without quick launch.

There should be a -nosplash or -quiet argument that you can use on the
commandline. (I'm on a Mac, so I can't verify what it really is).
I'm duping against the old RFE (which only talks about -quiet). Reporter, reopen
if you would really want this implemented as a preference.

An attempt to keep anyone from reopening this one.
See Bill Law's comment in http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=71295#c7 :
"It doesn't work adding a "-no splash" pref, per se, because then we wouldn't
know whether to show the splash screen till very long after it would do any good
to show it.
We *could* store that particular pref elsewhere, but I don't have the time to do
that, and it just isn't worth the time or trouble."
