The psm.xpi installer needs to have logic to detect previous installations of psm and/or to determine the correct default path to be: 1.look in Netscape version registry ("Program/psm.exe") 2.look in Windows registry under: key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\Netscape\Personal Security Manager\Main name: Install Directory 3.default to [CommonFiles]\Netscape Shared\Security key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion name: CommonFilesDir
