Composer is more of a Netscapeish term than a Mozilla term, so it would probably be best to rename Composer to Editor om the tasks menu. Already Messenger has been renamed Mail, in a similiar way.
Assignee: beppe → cmanske
But "Mail Compose" has always been used in fairly generic fashion. We have not received any instructions on what to use for 5.0.
Charley, we may want to raise this with jar, jimh and the folks at that level.
Target Milestone: M15
setting to M15, this can wait awhile, not beta critical
Severity: normal → minor
If you look at the title bar in the editor it is already labled "Text Editor". So, the two should at least be made consistent. I vote for "Editor" above "Text Editor" or "Composer".
The "Text Editor" is purely a debug testbed. It is not part of the product to be released and has no impact on the name of the real "Editor" or "Composer"
No, open the Composer from the tasks menu on Windows and have a look at the title bar - it is called "Text Editor" not "Composer". I'm not talking about what's on the debug menu.
Status: NEW → ASSIGNED
Oops! All the "Composer" windows have "Text Editor" when I intended to use "Composer". I'm changing to the latter for now -- decision about the official name is pending.
Status: ASSIGNED → RESOLVED

Resolution: --- → INVALID
Target Milestone: M15 → M14
The official decision is to use "Composer" as the module name.
Status: RESOLVED → VERIFIED
verified in 12/20 build.
