I added Headlines to My Panels. I only have the Mail window open (11.8.99) build. I open the Headlines panel in Sidebar in Mail. I click on a link and nothing happens. If I click on a link in Headlines in Sidebar in a Navigator Window, it opens the link page.

danm may already have a duplicate of this, but he agreed to take this one anyway.
could this be related to bug http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=20597 where links don't work if the browser window is not already opened?

cc mscott. Is there a URL dispatching angle on this?

Daver, can you try something for me....Can you run the app and make sure there is a browser and mail window up. Then go into your mail window, open your headlines panel and click on one of the headline links. Now that uri dispatching is turned on, we should see that link loaded in the browser window. If that does happen then we'll mark this bug as fixed. If it doesn't happen then I need to investigate some more. Re-assigning to me because this involves uri dispatching. I'm sure dan won't mind =).
Ok, I got it to work but there is one variant at least. I had the buddy list open, then I opened a browswer window and mail. I opened my inbox, entered my password and got the netcenter page in the third pane. I did not select a mail message. Then, when I click on a headline, nothing happened. So, I selected a mail message, it displayed; then I selected a headline and the headline page loaded in the browser window, but the browser window didn't come to the front...I was expecting it to. I can also click on links in a mail message and they will display the page in a browser window, but also not bring the window forward. Anything else?

I just ran this again today and things worked fine with two exceptions 1) I needed a browser window open in order for the headline news link to display in the browser. 2) The browser window didn't come to the front when I loaded the page. 1) is covered in Bug #20597 2) is covered in Bug #21173 since both of these issues are covered in other bugs, I'm just going to go ahead and mark this as a duplicate of one of them. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 20597 ***
