Most of the lines in this page that have character entities turn black.

The page looks fine to me under NT. What are you using to display this page?
Hardware: Other → PC
It looks fine to me under the 12-12 build. I can't duplicate it using 12-10 either, which is what I was originally using. It occurred after a bit of other browsing. I may have a chance to *try* to recreate the situation, but not until at least the weekend. I am using Windows95.
Setting all current Open/Normal to M4.

This was a long-ago bug that was a result of unimplemented entry points in the platform specific rendering routines. Its been fixed a long time. And there is already an open bug #1206 dealing with entity rendering so don't reopen it.

Verified fixed, since I couldn't replicate it in the first place. If you think you fixed it, I'll assume you fixed it.
