Go to http://www.dvd.net.au/goto.cgi?review.cgi?review_id=151
Ccroll down a bit. On the right hand side you should see an ebay ad. It has a
bear and stuff.
Wait for it to become still. Then wait til it starts to move again. When it's
moving click on a review link like 'Diehard with a vengeance'
Then the bear will disappear and be replaced with:
nph-graphic?19083
This is 100% reproducable on my system. The build is 1999111218.
I've experienced this many times before though with much older builds. Like you
click on a link and the page 'moves up'. What I never realised was it was being
caused by the banner ad at the top disappearing.

www.winfiles.com is another example. The ad banners at the top will disappear
if you click on a link somewhere while they are MOVING.
(I just noticed this when running chofmann's browser buster).
This may be confined to windows98.
It is not showing up on my nt box. I'll find
a test machine.

I see this on linux with a build from 12-02-99 too.
I'm not yet seeing the problem, but I will
persevere until I can duplicate it. Any
additional urls that produce the problem
would be appreciated.

It happens on http://slashdot.org/ .. wait for the page to load.. then click on
the first story. The top banner ad will disappear.

http://people.netscape.com/sspitzer/
shows the problem on the latest build (1999121408)
The animated N logo disappears and is replaced with the word 'mozilla' when you
click on the link at the bottom for his checkins to Mozilla. This would be a
fairly simple test case I suppose?
yes, its a simple set of steps....but it still
does not exhibit the described behavior on NT.
This may occur only on win95/win98.

I could have sworn that there's a duplicate for this bug, but I can't find it.
Pam, I can reproduce the steps with sspitzer's page. Also note bug #18049,
"Loading invalid URL halts animated GIF display" (assigned to travis).

...checked, BTW, on this morning's Win32 Mozilla build, using a Win 98 SE & NT
4.0 SP6. (Can't reproduce on Mac OS)

OK I'm still seeing this (all the time).
You see the page re-draw itself and move up or left just before loading the next
page. It happens to not only animated gifs I think, but other image types also.
It happens on Win2k also, which may negate the 'only win98' theory.
If any other info is needed I'd only be glad to help out. This one is fairly
noticable.
