Filing bugs on user-perceived performance issues: From: Matt <mattj@flashmail.com> Newsgroups: netscape.public.mozilla.performance Subject: Re: Performance bugs attacked??? Date: Fri, 19 Nov 1999 16:15:06 +0800 Message-ID: <3835070A.D50A615D@flashmail.com> Another aspect which seems slow is scrolling with either the keyboard (up and down arrows) or a MS wheel mouse, compared with Navigator 4.x. Maybe the scroll rate just needs to be tweaked to be greater.
From: erno@iki.fi (Erno Kuusela): also, while scrolling the page, there is some flickering in the area where new content is being drawn. this becomes more visible because the window background color (gray) is usually different from the web page background color, so for example with pages with white background, the flickering is between white/gray. perhaps the window background color could be changed to the page bg color, or the window system could be told not to draw the window background color at all.

Scrolling is better now, but this is might be a widget's problem.

i see no flickering, even on my 2nd, non-accelerated monitor. i'm not sure what i should do here, so i'm kicking it back to beard.
