Though it looks more like a missing feature, I report it as a bug. I have tried to apply a different background color to each column of a table using the HTML 4.0 tags COLGROUP and COL, more specifically the syntax: <COLGROUP> <COL style="background-color: red"> ... </COLGROUP> This looked alright in IE4 but gave no result at all in NGLayout.
