Mac 1208-08-M12 only: Launch to the Mac the first time, all mail/newsgroup messages disappear. I saw from Mac yesterday build and today build for the first time launch.... I am using the IMAP account with the multiple mail account & news account.

What happens if you launch again? Is this occuring the first time you run this build ever?

Yes. I am trying again now... It happened on the yesterday's build, not the first launch but launch to the multiple news profile....problem happened, I need to investigate more...

It keep crashing after I am trying to launch the second time

I'm not seeing this problem with todays build using Mac 8.5.1 with one profile having 3 different mail accounts (no news accounts).

The second time launching, crashed. After the third time launching, I can see all the messages display which is the same as I saw for yesterday.... But yesterday, I didn't see this problem at the first time since I am not using the multiple news for the first profile launching. But after I launch to multiple news profile. Probleme happened. And it crash at the second time too for yesterday build. And I launch the third time...it successful....I am thinking this may be the issue for multiple news profile. Cc: sspitzer. I will try the single new profile for the first launching again, see what happen....

Mac O/S 6.0 (1999-12-08-08 M12) I am NOT seeing this problem either. I use one profile with one imap account, one pop and one news server.

Thanks for input the comments for this, it really helpful for narrow down this bug. What I am going to do to run more tests for specific for multiple news or bug#20910 which is related to multiple profiles. I am thinking this is multiple news profile issue. Change summary to reflect that!! Launch to the Mac for multiple news profile for the first time, mail and newsgroup messages disappear!!

It seemed this is not specific for multiple news issue... I migrated the second POP profile with only one account & single new server. All the mail and newsgroup messages are disappear, either. I am thinking this problem maybe the same as bug#20910....but it's strange that I used the first time launched profile still got mail/newsgroup messages disappear.....I am going to clear every profile from 4.7...and try to start from totally clean from the single profile....it will take a while to test that.... will keep you all updating...

Yes. I am trying to reproduce this problem.... I found that this nothing with the multiple news now....since I used only one multiple news server's profile migrated to 5.0. It displayed all the mail/news messages....I still not sure whether is dup of bug#21097..... I am thinking problem happaned once you have multiple profiles existing in 4.7 and prepare to migrated to 5.0. maybe similar to bug#20910, but just with different symptom for different OS. Changed summary back for not including multiple news...but focus for multiple profiles..

It's strange that I got the bug#21026 symptom.... After I add another POP profile to make it two profiles on the 4.7 and trying to migrate to 5.0.... I got the bug#21026 symptom, it should simply migrate the single profile of the two 4.7 profiles.... but it displayed New account set up this time which is not correct!!

I reproduce this problem again....with 2 existing 4.7 profile and tried to migrtae the POP first with the single mail & single news server... I didn't see the new account set up this time... but all the messages still disappear.... I agree this bug is dup as bug#21097, but need to narrow down for bug#21097 for dealing with multiple profiles. Seth, how do you think?

Actually, I already verified on today's Mac 12-10-08-M12 commercial build. It was so strange that this bug CAN be reproduced from 12-08-08-M12 by Laurel, Seth & me, but CANNOT be reproduced from 12-09-10-M12 (by Laurel & Seth - see bug#21097) & CANNOT be reproduced from 12-10-08-M12 by Fenella & me. Anyway, I am glad that this problem is gone... If problem comes back again....I will just reopen or log another bug, then.
