I just started opening up windows. That seems to work. Its when you go back and start clicking on links in windows when it crashes. I'm not sure how useful these dumps are (Win98 doesn't give a lot of info back) - 7 windows open - MOZILLA caused an invalid page fault in module KERNEL32.DLL at 015f:bff87eda. I had 39 windows open and it hung my computer, but no crash (128Mb of ram in Win98 with Mcafee, Netscape 4.7, and my ADSL dialer open) It only seems to be when you start actually browsing in those windows when it crashes. Build 1999121008 - 3 windows open - (All of which were mozilla.org and I clicked a link in one of the ones in the background) MOZILLA caused an invalid page fault in module GKHTML.DLL at 015f:60194aae. You just have to do it quickly it seems. MOZILLA caused an invalid page fault in module <unknown> at 00de:75d28556. I had 2 windows open (Slashdot.org and www.wired.com) and I had just clicked on the scrollbar on the slashdot page after reading wired's article. This looks like its the same place in the kernel as the first crash I had. MOZILLA caused an invalid page fault in module KERNEL32.DLL at 015f:bff87eda. Updating QA Contact. paulmac, have one of your folks try this with latest build. Must get 7 windows open and not crash.
QA Contact: paulmac → shrir
Shrir, can you take a look at this when a good build comes out? Thanks. See if you can get a stack trace.
Used today's windows build (2000012008), I tried hard to crash on a '98 machine with 8 windows open...browsed around for say..half an hour..but did not crash. It definitely slowed down my machine though....
Cool...moving to WorksForMe.
