Sounds like some kind of iMac-specific GFX problem.

Tried it on a new DV iMac, running OS 9, and M12 looks just fine to me. How much memory, what OS, etc. was on the iMac in question?

It's an early 64 MB Rev A iMac, came with Mac OS 8.1, and upgraded to Mac OS 8.6. (2nd floor b21; you're welcome to check it out.)

I'm going to assign this to Pierre, he is doing some work with fonts and this may be something he could resolve.

M20 was just a convenient way for me to see the font-related bugs in my list. Using the {font} tag in the summary line instead.

Please note that the iMac in question is no longer accessible, and has been replaced with a different Macintosh.

I'm not sure if that's possible; the refresh people have taken it. I've asked paulmac to find out if we can get it back (if it's not already reformatted). On the other hand, if nobody else has reported encountering this problem, perhaps it's not very important.

Looks like an ATM fractional font spacing issue to me, or something wrong with the fonts themselves. Are you absolutely sure this is a stock iMac? Can this be reproduced on any other iMac?

Couldn't reproduce on the only other iMac available. We're currently trying to get the iMac back...
