i couldn't reproduce this problem using 2000010309 (on winNT). gonna
mark WFM for now. but perhaps this was on a different OS --if so, could you
please specify it as well as the build you used? thx!

on first opening it expanding _SLOW_, with blinking.
on second opening it works OK, but after moving to another submenu (utf-8 for
example) it collapses, blinks 3 times and does it slow.

Linux, fvwm2+gnome, 1024x768x24, a lot of fonts installed.

This sounds like a dup of 21477.
Clearing WORKSFORME resolution due to reopen. But sariuh, please check for dup.

I don't see this, using Gnome on RH6.1. I don't have enough fonts to even fill
the menu to the screen height though. How many does it take? In any case,
since it sounds like a problem placing menus with lots of items, I'm pretty sure
it is a dup. resolving as such.
