Images are not displayed properly. They work fine when a page is first loaded (sometimes) but when one goes to another page with same graphics, or goes back or re-loads, the image is mis-displayed (only half may be displayed, or it is mis-aligned, or shown as all-black). For image maps or image-based navigation links (perhaps this problem is related to links around images?) this is particularly problematic. (I would consider this a DOGFOOD issue.) For what it's worth, Communicator 4.7 (but not earlier versions) also have this bug on Windows NT SP5 or SP6. I am currently using Build 1999122808 although I've experienced this bug since M11 or M10.
Hrf...I can't reproduce this on Mac OS or NT, using the 1999122808 builds. If you're still seeing this with a current build, could you please re-open with steps to reproduce --- and, ideally, attached screen shots? Thanks!
Just a quick note: This sounds like a layout issue or gfx issue. -p

The problem is suddenly not so easy to duplicate (oddly, this build of Mozilla suddenly works w/out the bug on my NT SP6 w/Permedida Accelstar) but sporadically does not happen when screen capture utility is running on my machine at home (NT SP5 w/ATI Rage IIC). I think it may have to do with stopping a page while loading.
Could this be related to images not previously cached? When I first visited these pages tonight, I had problems. Now Mozilla appears to be working.

Thanks for the additional information; will check it out on Monday...

I can't tell if this is layout or rendering related. Reassigning to Kevin so he can reassign as needed. -p
FYI--I've upgraded my machine to SP6A and using Build 2000010308. The bug is still there. Graphics are not garbled but the navigation buttons (Back/Fwd/Reload/Stop) still contain "interference" from Location bar and graphics.
rrothenberg@notes.cc.sunysb.edu, thanks a million for staying on top of this bug. Since I can't reproduce on today's Win32 build (NT 4.0 SP5), I defer to Kevin & yourself to figure this one out...

The problem still shows up w/SP6A as well as SP5. I suspect this may be related to my video card/driver (a closer look at my system showed that the video driver was an ATI RAGE PRO when in actuality I have ATI RAGE IIC... installed the "proper" driver ATI RAGE IIC 4.0.0 but still get the same problems). ATI has a newer (Nov. 27, 99) version of the driver on their web site but it gives me a blue screen of death when installing. Suggestion: fine someone else w/NT SP5 or SP6 and ATI RAGE IIC video card/driver (I'm also using AMD K6-2 but I don't think the processor is an issue) and see if that person can duplicate this bug.
Symptoms seem similiar, if not identical to bug #21981. For some reason, Mozilla is having problems with some ATI video cards.
BTW, I've been having similar problems with Communicator 4.7 but not earlier versions. So perhaps there is something in common between Mozilla and Communicator that is related to this bug.
Is this still a problem? I can't reproduce it, and really does sound like a dup of bug #21981. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 21981 ***

I'm going to verify as duplicate. We *definitely* need to get some ATI cards in-house to test with. E-mailed ATI at their public address to see if they have a compatibility lab at their San Jose location.

Folks who are encountering this bug: Could you please comment in this bug report with what driver version(s) are you using for your ATI video card? Thank you!
I've switched from my ATI Rage IIC to a 3D Rage Pro AGP 2X (aka Rage Pro Turbo). Still have the same problems with Mozilla (and interestingly enough, Communicator 4.7x) on Windows NT 4.0 SP6A. Was using an earlier version of the drivers. Upgraded to the latest on their web site, 5.2.04 and still have the problem.
rrothenberg@notes.cc.sunysb.edu: devrel@ati.com would like to ask you: "What is the actual driver version for 5.2.04, and from which ATI web page?"
