I fill in my uid and pwd and hit submit and nothing happens!

Yes, we do not support https in the mozilla source base. We should pop up a warning to this effect. See bug 21336 for a similar report. Marking this one a dup of bug 17697, as 21336 was. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 17697 ***
