I wanted to try out the new feature with pasting in several names, what I did was 1) I Typed in "Fernando, Carolina, Papa" (the first 2 exist in my adress book) 2) Pressed Enter and saw that Thunderbird was filling in the emails 3) But on the third name --> CRASH! I can reproduce this crash every time. Does it have to do with that the last one doesnt exist in my address book? Build: Thunderbird 0.5a (20031219)
Confirmed. If several, comma delimited addresses are put in the To: field of the compose window and one of the addresses is not in the user's address book, Thunderbird crashes. In WinXP, the (in)famous: "Mozilla Thunderbird has encountered a problem" message appears and Thunderbird shuts down.
Here's what I'm doing: typing: "Scott, David, aldskjfklajlfjaskdjfksja" the last one is not in my AB. I see: name completion for scott name completion fo david then aldskjfklajlfjaskdjfksja@mydefaultdomain.com get added to the compose window
Could this be XP only? As I mentioned, I crash every time. Too bad that TB doesnt come with a Talkback.
I am win XP too :)
I can reproduce crash if one of the names being entered in the To: field is not in my AddressBook on Win98 OS, so this seems not to be a Win XP only issue. Error Msg.: "Thunderbird has performed an illegal operation and will now be shut down". Mozilla Thunderbird 0.5a (20031219)
Scott, What I am doing is as follows: typing in To: "Phil, Chuck, Dave" (without quotes of course) Dave is not in my address book. Nothing happens until I click out of the To: field. Once I do that I see: name completion for Phil (on one To: line) name completion for Chuck (on another To: line) a third To: line appears but remains blank Then, in a second or so, I get an error box from Windows saying: "thunderbird.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." Clicking close then shuts down Thunderbird. If I click to get more info about the error, I see: AppName: thunderbird.exe AppVer:0.4.0.0 ModName: appcomps.dll ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 00007779
Is there any way to turn off this feature to avoid the crash?
I think I see why I don't see it. If LDAP auto completion is turned on, I don't see this crash. I just turned it off and now I see it.
