Still happens with today's NS installer... at least on my Mac.
Sorry :-(
Clearing resolution due to reopen (and yes, it isn't working with the 2000011310
build for me either).

I'm seeing this bug again with today's commercial mac bits:
ftp://sweetlou/products/client/seamonkey/macos/8.x/ppc/2000-01-21-08-M13/NSMacIn
staller-M13.sea.bin
I'm no mac guru, so I'm waiting for confirmation before reopening the bug.

The Mozilla Installer works. Possibly a packaging/SmartDownload issue.

Extracting the install.xpi on sweetlou in today's build dir revealed that the
follwing shlbs are corrupt:
oji.shlb
xpcom.shlb
The install.xpi packaged with the Mozilla Installer extracted all shlbs fine.
JJ,
Could you replace the install.xpi on sweetlou in today's build directory with
the one from today's Mozilla Installer? Thanks.

done. I rebuilt a new install.xpi with the libs from the mozilla copy, and the
install.js file from seamonkey.
I effectively noticed that some files couldn't be extracted from the original xpi
file, with no explanation. Zipit didn't report any kind of error during the build
process... strange.
If we encounter more reliability problems with Zipit, I will consider switching
to Stuffit 5.5, which now supports zip format. This will require some automation
adjustments

Without additional details, I presume that you got the same behavior as before:
installer wizard downloads all xpis but then beeps once or twice and quits before
extracting them... right ?

you have described it exactly- one beep when extracting pole disappears

jj,
this may be duplicate of new bug 25288-do you think?

Nope,
I talked to Samir and even though the symptoms are the same (installer doesn't
work), the cause is different.
What he suggested in 25015 applies here too: reopening a old bug doesn't
necesseraly help.
Today's Mac installer failure is tracked in new bug #25288, and any further
installer bug should be entered as a separate new bug. Then, if it makes sense to
him/her, the bug owner will mark the bug as dup of an existing one based on his/
her conclusions.
