I'm seeing this in FF0.9.2 (20040707 Firefox/0.9.2); it was not present in 0.8. A quick and unscientific test suggests it only happens when the file is already in the browser cache - I went to http://uk.yahoo.com and right-clicked the main Yahoo banner at the top of the page, and selected "Save Image As...". The download manager popped up, showing the download already complete - and the window did not automatically close again. I then right-clicked one of the news stories on the right hand side of the page, and selected "Save Link As...". This time, the download manager popped up for the time it took to download the file, then closed again. So, either the bug is for cached files only, or it's dependant on the file type.
I can confirm this is present in Firefox 0.10.1. The theory about it being something to do with files that are present in the cache makes sense because AFAIK I only get this behaviour when doing "Save Image As..." on an image that i'm viewing and is therefore cached.
This is a REALLY old bug, which has been solved ages ago. I can not reproduce it anymore, and it most certainly is not present in firefox 0.10.1. Do a clean install of firefox/mozilla and try again. bye.
Summary: Download progress windows doesn't close after the file is doenloaded → Download progress windows doesn't close after the file is downloaded
Comment #5 is incorrect. The bug IS present in FF 0.10.1, even with a clean profile and a clean install.
I'm sorry to disagree with you, but I can't reproduce this bug anymore, neither in mozilla nor in firefox...
Product: Browser → Seamonkey
This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter. Please don't "auto-resolve" - this bug is present in FF1.0.7
This bug not geared towards Firefox, but SeaMonkey. And the bug has since been fixed. -> WORKSFORME

Is there an equivalent bug # for Firefox, then? Because as I said in comment #3, this bug has existed in FF since 0.9.2 in win98 - and I'm still seeing it with FF 1.0.7 in Win2k.
I haven't found one in the bugzilla search for firefox, so feel free to file a new firefox bug. Hopefully someone can help you out.
Done: bug 315618.
Additional Comment: The firefox bug is bug #243324 which had also been fixed. (That comment was found in bug #315618 which then came from this bug report).
