occurred using 2000011508 comm bits on macOS 9.0 and winNT. to repro, just go to Edit > Preferences... and mozilla crashes. on NT, i got Talkback info, which i'll attach soon. on the mac the behavior differed: mozilla just stood there doing nothing. i repeated Edit > Preference, and a [nearly] maximized empty window appears. needed to go to MacsBug to exit. i'll attach the bit of trace info i got soon...
