When loading the page 'http://www.rectorpress.com/IndiaBooks.html', Mozilla (M12
under RedHat Linux 6.1) displays duplicates of elements from the form at the
bottom of the page. This is probably a bug inherited from Netscape 4.x, since
it has a simular problem.
I don't see any duplicate form elements in either Gecko or Navigator 4.x. It
looks just like it looks in IE
Re-opening bug and re-assigning to Kevin per the reporter's comments that the
bug only happens on Linux and Unix:
It only shows up in the *UNIX and Linux* versions of Netscape. The
MS-Windows and MacOS versions don't seem to have the problem. I used
Netscape 4.7 under Linux (RH6.1 (also 4.61), Netscape 4.51 under RH
5.2), Irix 6.5, and Dec UNIX 4.0 -- all had replicated copies of the
upper form (the search form at the top). Mozilla (M12) has a *simular*
problem, but it was replicating the lower form (order form at the
bottom). Weird. I only tried Mozilla on a Linux box. I figured the
Netscape problem might be related to Motif. Or maybe an X11 related
issue, since the problem also occurs (sort of) with Mozilla.
Note: the page (http://www.rectorpress.com/IndiaBooks.html) is a long
page (580k bytes). The form elements are duplicated at various places
in the page. It appears consistent with a given version of Netscape
(across platforms) or Mozilla, but varies somewhat between versions.

Waqar can you look at this Linux specific problem? Marking as [PP] and
reassigning to Waqar. CC'ing blizzard

Nom. nsbeta3, recc. nsbeta3+. Duplicating HTML form elements is bad because HTML
forms are widely used. HTML 3.2 correctness--key b2 criterion, suggesting
nsbeta3 rather than nsbeta2 only b/c platform-specific problem & nsbeta2 has
tons of bugs already.

This bug has been marked "future" because the original netscape engineer working
on this is over-burdened. If you feel this is an error, that you or another
known resource will be working on this bug,or if it blocks your work in some way
-- please attach your concern to the bug for reconsideration.

The search form does not replicate on a current CVS build, Linux.
Nor do other forms on the page. WFM.

While I don't see any error on the given URL, I guess I've been bitten by a
similar bug while reading the page for bug 68136, where suddenly near the end of
the page a listbox with a gray/dead content area but with a functioning scroll
bar was floating over the text; by experimentation I found out that it was an
exact duplicate (sans content) of the "CC:" listbox - change the scrollbar of
either one, and the other will update accordingly!
I'll attach a screenshot of both.
All this wackyness happened using Mozilla 0.9.8 on Win98SE, so probably the
OS-attribute of this bug should be changed?

I am gonna close this bug as WFE... Kurt Pruenner, can you open a new bug and
add the correct data for what your seeing. I just think this one is closed and
the problem your talking about it probably something else that may or may not
have been reported.. but the summary should reflect what your seeing, and an url
or test case that does break would be great. Thanks.

I'd gladly file a new bug if I were able to reproduce it myself now with Mozilla
1.0RC1 - but I can't.
I guess that makes it a WORKSFORME on my side as well...
