Environment: I am using Build 2000012415 I currently have proxies set to manual. Our corporate firewall proxy uses authentication. Problem Description: Some cookies are recognized and stored - I can tell this by going to Tasks->My Wallet->Display Cookies When I try to login to developer.java.sun.com, however, it is unable to set the transient cookie that is required for me to use their site. As a result, I am consistently returned to the page which says I need to login. It says that if I am a registered user and keep getting that page after I try to login that I need to set my browser to accept cookies. (This site works just fine for my in my Netscape 4.71 browser. I have an internal server on our intranet which uses transient cookies. Mozilla works just fine on this server. So... I don't think it has to do with the cookie being transient. If you try to reproduce this and it works for you, try a configuration which includes manual proxy settings which specify a proxy that requires authentication.
This works fine for me. The transient cookie is getting set. So it's not a cookie problem. I wasn't using a manual proxy because I don't have one and don't know how to set one up. Also, if it requires a manual proxy setting, it's probably in Judson's area. Reassigning.

Sounds like this might be a proxy auth/proxy problem. over to gagan.

Target Milestone: M15
I've had this problem on other sites (both using NT and Windows 98). Logging into my.yahoo.com doesn't seem to work (it'll log me in initially, but if I try reloading the front page it brings me back to the login page). A cookie is being set, though. For some reason it's either not being given to the server at all, or properly. The other site I had problems with was using www.chapters.ca (Chapters, a Canadian bookstore). I couldn't use their shopping cart system properly. I could add one book, but if I try adding another my first selection will disappear. Navigator 4.07 works fine (this was on NT). In neither case was I going through a proxy. -Oliver
If this bug prevents access to my.yahoo.com, developer.java.sun.com and other common sites for most people, should it be moved up to M14? Can anyone actually use my.yahoo.com or developer.java.sun.com without experiencing the problems listed in this bug? If so, then maybe it should be left at M15.
This now works for me on build 2000021316.
