This is a dup of bugsplat 65294, moved over to bugzilla for 5.0 tracking ----------------------------------------- Korean people cannot sign their names to documents. They need chineese characters and the method to do this is not in communicator. Some tweaking of existing IME code may allow this to work. ------- Additional Comments From mjudge 05/14/97 15:11 ------- fixed in win32 not win16 ------- Additional Comments From palevich 05/14/97 15:29 ------- We can live without this for 4.0 ------- Additional Comments From jeffu 05/27/97 13:46 ------- Probably stuck with this until the next major Composer rewrite ------- Additional Comments From brade 10/29/98 11:25 ------- reopen bug for consideration in the new world...add kostello, msanz, teruko to cc list.

i have no idea what this is or why its assigned to me. If this is a bug that we cant input Chinese, Japanese, Korean characters in 5.0 yet it belongs to Tague(internationalization) I believe. Since i am sure he is working on this however i will keep this bug assuming that when there is something specific i can do to aid in this task he will update it and fill something in. however since i am being yelled at ;) for having too many m7 bugs i am moving this to something arbitrary like M9 (kind of a remind me in 2 weeks to look at this)

I checked in a general solution for Macintosh controls (nsMacControl.cpp and nsMacControl.h). Should be in M7.
Tague, did you fix this in Macintosh, not Windows?
Status: RESOLVED → REOPENED
I must have accidentally changed this when trying to make changes to #5438.

I don't the exact issue of this bug by reading the original description. What does it mean by "cannot sign their names..."? Does this simply mean the ability to write Hanja (Ch. char's) on Editor via IME char conversion feature? If so, it's fixed. On 10-29-09-M11 Win32 bld, I can input Hanja freely.
