In order to keep with the Mozilla desire for cross platform compatibility, Palm
synching should be made available to users of Thunderbird on MacOS X as well. I
know there has been some discussion on what could possibly be done to achieve
this, but those discussions seem to have stalled and actual attempts to achieve
this functionality for the Mac seem to be nonexistant. Below is a URL that might
help.

This company provides SDKs for developing conduits between Mac programs and both
Palm devices AND PocketPCs. I feel that it certainly warrents a good investigation.
If I were a programmer I would download the SDKs myself and start working
immediately, because I absolutely love using Thunderbird on my Mac.
Unfortunately, I know zilch about programming. However, I hope somebody will be
willing to go to the above URL and investigate the possibilities. I will be
happy to sacrifice my Thunderbird for testing.

The request in this bug is actually covered by bug 16767 (in Core /Mailnews:
Palm Sync) therefore, I'm duping this one to that one.
