Overview Description: The second time Mozilla needs to display an alert dialog box it hangs. The second dialog box doesn't appear, and I can't access the application menus. I am sometimes able to click on the "stop" button, but subsequently I can't reload the page or access another page via the location bar or the open page menu item. The dialog boxes don't have to be web-page-generated. For example, the dialog box mozilla puts up on startup when i am offline and it tries to load my start page from the net counts as the first dialog box. The test case I am attaching to this bug tries to put up five dialog boxes, although I haven't been able to get past the second dialog box. This problem has existed on the last several linux nightlies. Build Date & Platform Bug Found: Linux 2000-02-04-08 Additional Builds and Platforms Tested On: none Additional Information: none
Attached file test case with five alert boxes (deleted) —
On Win 98, all five dialogs popped up and the browser did not hang. Build 2000020414.
Reassigning to dialogs. Note: Almost the same symptoms as bug 21596.

any chance the mozilla nightlies for linux having been properly getting pushed out with the latest drops? The symptoms sound so much like Bug #25833 it's scary..but we know that's fixed now...hmmm
I see this on commercial linux build also, but not on commercial windows builds of 2/7.
Dan loves these bugs.

probably a manifestation of bug 26283? I see this also with the customize sidebar dialogue, the third time causes problems on linux
myk's test case above works for me today. There's been some recent work improving stability in Linux alerts. Could be we caught this one while we were at it.

marking verified, this looks fixed here also. Tried with other dialogues also. I still see the problem with the sidebar customization dialogue hanging for a long time the 3rd time you try to open it, only on linux. Will open separate bug on that.
