This is also seen at nytimes.com in the third column of the left, when you focus
the headline links there.
This doesn't happen in Mozilla1.7.
I guess this was introduced when bug 151375 was fixed.
It's obviously not an important bug, but I find it (slightly) ugly.

Actually, this may be the right behavior.... once we draw a continuous outline,
I'd expect this for newlines (with "white-space:pre") as well.
I think we could fix this if we want to, when we get around to drawing combined
outlines.
