If you go to www.cnnsi.com and let it load and then press the "Stop" button
and if you then try and scroll up or down the little arrow images disappear on
the scrollbar. The same image also disappears on any combo boxes. It seems to be
tied to stopping the download on any page. I see this problem on both Photon
and Windows versions.

I don't see this with current win32 and linux builds, but (I just noticed)
a very odd behaviour on linux: will attach a screenshot here (but it may be
a different bug) -- using the same steps to reproduce, with bonsai.mozilla.org
as the URL -- after I stop the loading, the page continues to layout (it has
that bug where the scrollbars flash as the page loads). -- when I then scroll
the page (dragging the thumb) the arrow icons for the vertical scrollbar are
painted *everywhere* in the slider area.

Yep, John it still happens for me. This is a fresh DEBUG build i am using here.
You have to stop the page load mid way and then scroll to seee it happen.

I still see this occasionally, but will try to get some reproducible steps
before reopening

Reopening. On 62608 win98 I do this:
(1) Load http://my.yahoo.com
(2) Once the page has fully loaded, press the reload button.
(3) After a second (before the reloading of the page has a chance to occur),
press stop.
(4) Switch apps, then switch back to Mozilla
The arrows in the dropdown boxes under the Personalize This Page section are
missing. Sometimes you don't have to switch apps first to see it happen.

also, jrgm fwiw, that screenshot you posted is a known (separate) bug about
scrollbar thumbs leaving trails...I think it's a mostfreq

Reproducible as Blake describes (for mac/linux/win32 20000626 am builds),
but only for HTML <select> widgets. Passing on to rods/ckritzer.
I can't reproduce this in xul <scrollbar>s, either as reported, or as I
could on 05/07 (... and that was not an instance bug 34218).

Sorry -- you're right. I should have looked at the image more closely before
assuming that.

MArking as later for now. Currently we are using images for for the dropdown
arrow will be at some point switching over to "drawn" arrows. What is odd is
that the arrow.gif should be in the cache already.
This bug has been marked "future" because the original netscape engineer working
on this is over-burdened. If you feel this is an error, that you or another
known resource will be working on this bug,or if it blocks your work in some way
-- please attach your concern to the bug for reconsideration

Any ETA for those "drawn" arrows? Could that cache problem be any kind of
history problem?

Go to http://www.romanpoet.org/links/2index.php and while loading hover over the
pull down menus. All okay there. However stop the page from loading before it
completes (it actually never completes here), and then hover. Bingo, the arrow
images go.

Nominating for 0.9, 1.0, with polish keyword. This is an obvious UI bug that
takes the quality feel away from the product. FWIW I see the bug right now in
that non of the pull-downs on this bug page I'm typing in has their arrow.

I used to see this but haven't in awhile. Plus, the upcoming xbl form controls
will fix this anyway.
