Doh, I neglected to mention that the scroll bar does track the motion downwards if you repeatedly press the down-arrow key --- this only occurs if you're doing a selection. This probably goes to mjudge, but assigning to Editor first since it's Editor- only.

With today's build, as soon as I click anywhere in the editor window I get a message ****Gfx Scrollbar Special case hit!!***** and the scrollbar disappears, never to be seen again. The editor still works, and shift-downarrow does indeed extend the selection and scroll the page down, but you can't see the scrollbar thumb any more.
