DESCRIPTION: The hotkeys listed on the menu for Back (Alt-]), Forward (Alt-[),
and Home (Alt-H) don't work for me.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
1. load a page
2. load another
3. hit Alt-] (or Alt-[ if bug 28904 is fixed)
4. hit Alt-H
ACTUAL RESULTS:
* after (3) and (4) above, nothing happens
EXPECTED RESULTS:
* after (3) above, should go back
* after (4) above, should go home
DOES NOT WORK CORRECTLY ON:
* Linux, mozilla, 2000-02-25-08-M15
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
These hotkeys have never worked for me.
I think if I had back/forward hotkeys I would be using the browser a good bit
more, because I used them *all* the time in 4.x. I suspect lots of others will
feel the same way, and I'm therefore going to mark this bug beta1.
This appears to be broken on all platforms. Hmmmm ... we have to fix this for
beta 1.

The pattern here seems to be that all the working hotkeys are on menuitems
defined in globalOverlay.xul, but with the keys added in navigatorOverlay.xul,
whereas the three that don't work are menuitems fully defined (with keys) in
navigatorOverlay.xul.

keyboard shortcuts (hotkeys) are being tracked in bug 22529.
claudius, don't you have a bug for Back/Fwd?
Comment 9•25 years ago

for the back and forward functionality itself (not just the keyboard shortcuts)? Yes, too many to list ;-). See 'History' bugs.

I'm reopening this bug because of the comment regarding nsbeta2 status
(2000-05-15 14:05) on the duplicate bug. I think this should be fixed for
beta2.

Fixed. Opening new bug for assert when trying to use forward/back
(toolbar or hotkey) over the history boundary, eg. trying
to go back when there's no page to go back to: 41163
