But just in case, I'm talking about the main window that one gets by selecting "Edit->Message Filters..." from the menus in the mail/news window, and my reasoning is that with a list of filters that even approaches being something one might call long, having only six on the screen at a time is a pain (ordering is difficult, etc.)

We will not fix it in 4.5x family of release. It will have to be done in 5.0. assigning to daver.

This is actually a FE bug so assign to warren for now. These bugs/enhancements for 5.0 need to be moved to bugzilla. I'll do so when I have time to move a bunch of bugs.

Don't know who's doing the filter dialog for 5.0 yet. Accepting bug to myself to shut up terry's bugzilla notification bot.
