From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; N; Win98; en-US) Mozilla/m14 BuildID: 2000022508 When you try to select a single letter in the address bar by using the keyboard, it selects the whole address. Then, if you try to move the cursor (again using the keyboard), it will only move one letter over. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Place the cursor in the address bar at the very end (far right) 2. Hit shift + left arrow (this highlights the whole text) 3. Press the left arrow key once (this moves the cursor all the way to the left) 4. Try to move the cursor to the right using the right arrow key (it will only move 1 position to the right) Actual Results: The whole text field was selected, and when you move the cursor all the way to the left (right after selecting the text) and try to move the cursor back to the right, it will only move one position to the right. Expected Results: First, I think that when you press **** + left arrow it should only select one character. However it selects the whole text field. Second, if you do this and try to move it back using the arrow keys, it does not move back. Additional Info: First, I found that the second part of this bug (the cursor will not move further than one position to the right) can also be reproduced in the same way by selecting the text with the mouse. ie. replace steps 1 and 2 with: select the whole text field with the mose. Second, another very closely related bug is that if you press the **** + right arrow anywhere in the address bar, it selects all the text to the left of the cursor (instead of one character to the right).
(As another datapoint) this bug does not manifest itself on my linux build (made from feb 26 CVS).
Does this happen only in the location bar, or also in HTML input elements, or in the Mail compose window, in the HTML editor?
Humm, well i downloaded build 2000022708 and I dont seem to have this problem.
ok, marking fixed, as reporter does not see this anymore. if you do see this again, simply reopen bug.
