Details
Hi terry-
Can we get Talkback added to the Webtools components list please? We would like
to have all 5.0 related Talkback bugs in Bugzilla. We will be implementing it
in the builds shortly and are working on access outside the firewall now.
Description for Component:
Talkback is the database where black box reports from Netscape's Quality
Feedback Agent reside. The agent is a program built into Communicator products
which allows a user to report errors directly to Netscape if they wish.
This allows developmental engineers to diagnose and fix these problems and
continue to improve upon the quality of our products.
Engineer is namachi. QA Contact is leger.
Thanks!

Are there any webpages up talking about Talkback?
In particular, I'm anticipating all sorts of "where do I get the source for
this" questions. It would be nice to talk about that in a webpage up front.
It's a long one...You could link to:
http://help.netscape.com/search?NS-search-page=document&NS-rel-doc-name=/kb/clie
nt/981030-10.html&NS-query=talkback&NS-search-type=NS-boolean-query&NS-collectio
n=Client&NS-docs-matched=1&NS-doc-number=1
I'll mail it to ya.

Well, yes, but that page doesn't talk about the source code for Talkback.
bugzilla is part of mozilla.org; mozilla.org is all about open source.
Whenever something appears on mozilla.org that isn't open source, then there
needs to be some words of explaination why. I know a little bit about
Talkback, and I believe that there are perfectly fine reasons why it isn't
an open source thing, but those reasons need to be spelled out for the public.
So, I'm hoping for some web pages that explain Talkback's relationship to
the open source world.
chofmann or namachi...do you know where another page with info terry needs might
be located? Thanks!

Currently there no webpages that talks about the relation between talkback
(fullcircle) and Open source. Enabling talkback for Netscape built open source
binaries is possible. Modified source build by third parties is impossible right
now. But to go there we need to have some way to maintain bugs related to
talkback.

Then you will have to write some, yes?
I know there have been discussions about how Talkbalk fits into the mozilla.org
world. I am saying that these discussions must be published so that the
mozilla.org community can understand what's going on, before we start using
mozilla.org infrastructure to start supporting it.
namachi, if you're not the right person to be creating these pages, then
please reassign this bug to whoever is.
