Details

default font for variable-width/central-european-charset was actually monospace - it didn't look good. Helvetica or Times should be better.
where is the default coming from? I think you set it
Assignee: matt → erik
The default font for Central European on Unix is not explicitly set yet. It is probably picking up a monospace font more or less by accident, due to the way the code was written. The defaults are in mozilla/modules/libpref/src/unix/unix.js Anyway, Times and Helvetica do not contain the Central European characters, so we can't use those, right?

Illich, please send me, in separate email, the output of xlsfonts. E.g. xlsfonts | mail erik@netscape.com The fix should be quite trivial, so I'm targetting M16.

Summary: default font not good → default Central European font not good
OK, I've added default fonts for Central European. They are times for serif, helvetica for sans-serif, and courier for monospace. Let me know how it looks. Changing QA Contact to Reporter. Illich, please test it.
