Build ID 2000030516
Win NT Workstation v4 Service Pack 5
Logged into my.netscape.com's webmail, then started to create a new e-mail
message. Then I attempt to add an attachment and at the above URL, I received a
JavaScript error (Line #54). If I click OK on the alert dialoge box which
displays the error code message -- Mozilla crashes.

JHoss, could you try this with a newer nightly build and let us know if it still
crashes? If it still crashes I would love to see the page that causes the crash
attached to this bug :)

Sent in a .gif attachment of the error. Down loaded nightly build 2000031417.
No longer crashes when attempting to attach a attachment through Netscape's
based web mail -- but give's an ALERT box as states that "Can only have
0attachments." Still will not allow me to attach (upload). Take a look at the
.gif file. Let me know if you would like me to try anything else

JHoss, could you now right-click in the little window ("Message.Attachments.html
test - Mozilla" in the image you attached), and select "Save as" to save the
html for that window and then attach the saved file, if I see the HTML/JS for
that window it'll be a lot easier to see what's causing this.
Thanks!

Sent in the HTML document as requested. Attempted to attach a simple text file
called dumplog.txt. Received same error -- ALERT: You can have a maximum of 0
attachments.

I get the same JS error in 4.x (You can have a maximum of 0attachments) as I do
in Mozilla. It looks to me like the fault of the JS code.
When you load the page live in 4.x, do you get this error? If not, could you
try saving the page in 4.x and attaching that version, since there could be
browser-sniffing going on.

Asa, could you pop over here and have a look at this when you have a moment?
Cheers.

I can confirm this I get an error too. It works fine in 4.x on mac and win32
but not in moz on mac or win32.

Sol, is WebMail supposed to be working for nsbeta2? If so, please nominate at
whatever level you think appropriate.
Comment 14•24 years ago
|
||
Yes - Netscape Web Mail is critical functionality for Beta 2. Even if WebMail is
not a top 100 site, we expect to drive a lot of traffic there, making this a
high visibility problem. Therefore, I've nominated this for nsbeta2.
