From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; N; Win98; en-US) Mozilla/m13
BuildID: 2000022820
All new windows or dialog boxes open in the upper left corner of the screen. Not
really a serious bug but quite annoying.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a new browser window/download a file/open the preferences box/etc...
Actual Results: The resulting window will be positioned in the upper left
corner of the screen.
Expected Results: A normal window should get a default position based on the
position of a previously opened window and a dialog box should be centered on
the screen.

A 02/28 build does not include a number of significant changes to persisting
window open states, but I have on my to-do list a need to draw up a test plan
to check all the permutations of these settings. So I'll take the bug for now,
and get that test plan in place.

From bug 33289: this is particularly annoying if the windows taskbar is at the
top of the screen, because the top of the new window ends up under the taskbar.

This bug has not been touched since 2000-12-10, therefore this reminder.
I don't see the bug anymore, and the bug mentioned in comment #5 is fixed.
Reporter could you please verify if this problem is gone and close the bug if it is.
I see this on Linux with 1.4a and 1.4b (RHL 8). I don't remember this occurring
prior to that, but it apparently also happens on Debian stable & and Debian
testing which has version 2:1.0.0-0.woody.1 (whatever that means).
It's extremely annoying. Once I had a site whose broken javascript would open a
new window that had the same content as the one already there every time I
clicked a link and I never noticed because it showed up in the exact same place.
(So I thought it was doing nothing instead.)
