I think this has something to do with bug 34079. With the 2000-03-31-08 Win32 build I can type in text controls only until I try to open a context menu. Sometimes I can use the "invisible" context menu items (see bug 34079) with the keyboard (right click, press "S" gets save as dialog) After I left click to close the "invisible" context menu I still can't type in any text controls (location bar, other text fields).

I can only reproduce this problem if I attempt to open a context menu. Resolving as worksforme since typing does work if you can manage to make the hidden context menu go away (I press s and then cancel).
