Build: 04-07-08-M15 commercial build Linux only: Default email address of the Account Wizard is not correct. When trying to use account wizard to create mail accounts. The Default email address always default pointing to the machine users name which is not correct, should leave it blank to let users define the mail account user email address. 1) Tried to create new profile for POP or IMAP 2) Actual Results: When the account wizard open, you can see that the default email address already pointed to machine owner/user name's email address which is not correct. Expected results: Should be the same as the other platforms (Windows & Mac) to leave it blank until user define mail account's email address.

I disagree. Jennifer? We have this unique ability to take a guess at the user's e-mail addresses. Depending on the machine configuration, we often get it right (it usually works on any properly-configured unix machine) seth is working on adding this capability to windows and mac as well.

I don't mind the first account in a profile defaulting to my system name but for additional accounts I may not want my system account to be the default, which is what it does now on Linux. I like the suggestion in Bug# 35467 which requests: "When creating a second or larger Account the "Your Name" and "Email address" should default to already made account settings. So if I already have a account with Username="Henrik Gemal" the Your Name field should default to "Henrik Gemal" Even better could be a solution where the names of the already made accounts user names were shown in a drop down box, so you could enter a new name or select an already enterede name."
I actually think we should still default to that because often you're just creating a news account, and that should be the same. Also, it tries to be smart about your domainname - it only goes to the hostname when it can't figure out your domain name (which means that unless you're on a different internet than everyone else, your machine is misconfigured) But right now it gets the username and email address directly from the machine information - I do kind of like the idea of it getting it from the default account. But I think that should be a different bug.
