Details

Hitting the stop button on Linux in Build 2000-04-09-09 stops the progress bar but doesn't stop a page loading. This is similar to, but more general than, bug 29085.

i kinda see this on 2000-04-13-16 M16 as well. During loading of a page, each time i hit the stop button, nothing happens cept an output to console: "Couldn't obtain handle to stop Broadcast element" But the barberpole keeps spinning.
related: bug 34253 DocLoader::Stop() returns failure much of the time gagan: You ask a question in 34253 - i think the answer is bug bug 29870
seems this should be marked as a duplicate of bug 35975, which is marked fixed as per 04.16
