I have ~200-300 messages on a account on mailandnews.com. When I try to set up this mailbox (IMAP4) to download them, it gets about half of the subjects down, and then freezes. It gets half the subject lines down, so I can see them, but they do nothing when I click them. I can mail the userID/password is desired
(a) What build are you using? If it's M14 or Netscape 6b1, please download a current build from http://mozilla.org/ and see if the problem's been fixed. (b) If it hasn't been fixed: when it "freezes", does the whole application freeze? Or it just stops downloading? Does hitting the Stop button do anything? I have a test account on mailandnews: ID: "mozilla", password "mozilla". telnet mailandnews.com 143 says: OK InterChange IMAP4 Server v3.61.02 Ready
Summary: Can't download my mail from mailandnews.com → IMAP: Can't download my mail from mailandnews.com
I'm using the current nightly build 2000/04/12/05 when it freezes, i mean that I can't access the mail itself, I can go to a second account (on another server with 1000+ messages) and it works fine. Oh.. 1 more thing.. The sub folders on this account work fine. the inital sequence (when I created the account) was that it downloaded 100 or so of the 290 messages and just sat there with a 'document done' it shows ~100 of the message subjects, and when I click on one of the subjects nothing happens. (double clicking doesn't bring up the message window either) maybe a corrupt file on my end ? Ive been using nightly builds for ages.. maybe I've got a directory out of whack .. where does it store this info ?
The headers are stored in .msf files in the server directory for the account. Lisa, where are the msf files on Win NT?
You may be running into bug http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=33715 which bienvenu has a fix for. (Richard - .msf files are stored in the users50 directory under for the profile for Windows)
Was due to a bad mail message, I deleted it and it worked OK
