Build 2000-04-17-12M16: NT4 Build 2000-04-17-11M16: Linux 6.0, Mac 8.5.1 Overview: Change the Window Settings from the Sidebar extending the full length of the window (aka Sidebar Maximized) vs. the message pane extending the full width of the window (aka Message Pane Maximized) does not change dynamically. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open Mail 2. Select Edit|Preferences, Mail and Newsgroups|Windows Settings. 3. In the "Preferred Layout for the Mail window" section change the setting from the Sidebar Maximized to Message Pane Maximized, OK. Actual Results: The Sidebar still displays the full length of the window. Workaround: Quit the program, restart mail and the change is displayed so that the message pane extends to the width of the window. Expected Results: After making the change in Preferences then the difference should be displayed in the 3-pane window immediately. It should not require Mail to close/open or a Quite/restart. Additional Information - Win and Linux (Couldn't try Mac due to bug# 36096): with the pref set to the Message Pane Maximized, change to Sidebar Maximized, then these changes are not displayed automatically. Workaround: If the Address Book is open, Mail is closed and opened again, then the changes display. Notice the difference in behavior depending on what pref you start with: - Sidebar Maximized to Message Pane Maximized requires a Quit and Restart of the entire application. - Message Pane Maximized to Sidebar Maximized requires another component being open for the ability to close and open mail in the same session to see the changes.
