found this using today's opt comm bits, 2000.04.25.09.
1. open Preferences dialog.
2. click on Advanced category to view it.
result: the panel doesn't load (on linux it's just black, on winNT it doesn't
change from the previously-viewed category).

Actually, something does appear to be happening when clicking Advanced. After
clicking Advanced, switch to another program and then switch back to moz...the
contents of the current browser window are played into the area where advanced
options should be.
Is this really a blocker? Not questioning you, just can't recall what was
under Advanced that was so important.

good point, since a user could just edit their prefs.js --although i wouldn't
expect all endusers to have memorized the pref names. ;-) bumping this one
down...
anyhow, the following checkboxes are in the Advanced panel:
* automatically load images
* enable java
* enable javascript in navigator
* enable javascript in mail and news
* enable style sheets
* send email address as anonymous ftp passwd
Severity: blocker → major

no longer a problem with today's bits (opt comm, 2000.04.27.09/10 on linux,
winNT and macOS)... marking wfm.

verify wfm on 2000042708
I am, however, seeing intermittent problems with switching to other categories
after clicking on Advanced (after clicking on it, clicking on other categories
sometimes does nothing other than highlight them, as was the problem yesterday
with Advanced). I'll file it as a separate bug if it keeps up.
