Tom, we talked about this ages ago, I have the work done in the form controls for registering. You need to put in the code in the Event State Manager for this. This bug is manager here for a dependency.

There were some late regressions and I don't have a Mac or Linux build right now to test on but its my impression that this bug is fully fixed. I'll check into it and hopefully close this.
