Find on this Page should have Up/Down capability akin to that of NS 4.x and IE
5.x It should also have a "Whole Word Only" option.
Furthermore, is the "Backwards" option really necessary? I mean, can anyone
think of a valid, feasible reason for this besides just having 'another
feature' ? It's also a little confusing, at first glance I thought it meant
search the page backwards (i.e. upwards)

Blake, actually "whole word only " already exists as bug 14871. :-)
also, please do keep only 1 issue per bug report --makes it easier for tracking
(esp for potentially seperate issues). thanks so much!
i've updated the summary to reflect the request/query re: directional
capabilities. reassigned to sfraser who works on the Find On Page feature.

You misunderstand the 'backwards' option. It *does* search the page upwards, so
replaces the up/down buttons that 4.x has.
Other RFEs here are covered by existing bugs.

Wow..I feel pretty dumb now. For some reason, I seem to recall trying
the "Backwards" option long ago and concluding that (as silly as this sounds)
it found the reverse of the word...i have NO idea why I was under this
impression for so long. Also, sairuh, sorry for throwing all those issues in
there -- it started off as just a directional capability request but then I
[lazily] threw in all those other issues also; in fact, the reason I returned
to this bug was to split off the other ones, until I realized it was marked inv.
In any case, I might split off a separate bug requesting the standard Up/Down
radio buttons rather than a "Backwards" checkbox, after verifying that it
hasn't already been reported, but for now I'll verify this invalid
