Do a drag select over small caps text and observe the spacing and capitalization glitches in the text rendering. Example 0 has some small caps text to see this.

Setting to M4 Milestone Problems with getting selection of any formatted text, we need support from the Gecko team to complete this fix
hey mike, isn't this just a dupe of 3702 or some of the similar bugs (4254,4255,4145)? In general bad things tend to happen if you drag-select. I just crashed on Linux Mar28 messing around w/ sample 0.

not gunna fix this for m4, its just annoying.

This APPEARS to be fixed if you think it is still broken cmon by and see me and you can point out what you think is wrong. maybe i am missing something. the "jammed" up text selects kind of strangely but that seems acceptable to me. maybe thats what you are refferring to?

ok i see it now. stretch the window all the way out and the farther you get from left margin the more "off" the Getposition code is. moving to m8 because i cant look at this now

I don't know what was happening before, but I have the feeling it changed when selection was changed from inverting colors to white-on-blue (or maybe system settings). If you select part of a word (mal within small), the is white. If your selection includes a hyphen or space, the entire text becomes black. If you go back, it becomes white again. I can't tell the exact conditions for what happens at edges of words.

*SPAM*: Changing the QA contact of all open/resolved Selection bugs from elig@netscape.com to BlakeR1234@aol.com. After the many great years of service Eli has given to Mozilla, it's time for him to move on; he has accepted a position at Eazel. We'll be sad to see him go, and I'll do my best to fill his spot...
